Richard Murphy

Adviser to the Board

In 2005 Richard became a client of Dart Capital and in 2007 an Adviser to the Board of the company. At the time of the buyout he provided invaluable advice to the management team and continues to advise the Board on a wide range of issues including strategic direction and the development of our service to suit top London professionals.

Richard joined Deloitte, Plender, Griffiths & Co in 1970. In 1980 he joined a newly formed division serving the growing and middle market in London, becoming a partner in 1984 in one of the firms that became PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). After nearly 20 years as a partner he retired in 2002. From that date he has been a non executive chairman of a trading subsidiary of a charity and is involved in other charity work.

Richard's clients have included listed and quoted companies and substantial private companies covering a wide range of industries including companies providing retail, catering, property management and accommodation services where he provided audit and reporting accounting services. These included flotations on the main and junior markets and unquoted public offerings. In addition to his risk management, compliance and reporting role, he was closely involved with many of his clients in providing overall business planning and strategic advice and in assisting with the raising of development and conventional finance and due diligence investigations.
